Farmers & Merchants Bank is a locally owned, financial institution that has served the community since 1948. Our employees are dedicated to providing hometown, professional banking products and services to the citizens and businesses in the Statesboro and Bulloch County area. From its founding, the directors, officers and staff of the Bank have been dedicated to the community it serves through direct, hands-on involvement in activities, fundraising events, local parades and celebrations.
In 1947 a group of businessmen came together with the intention of establishing a financial institution that would serve Statesboro and the surrounding areas. On February 4, 1948, Farmers & Merchants Bank, FMB, was incorporated as a Georgia banking corporation for the purpose of conducting a commercial banking business from Bulloch County, Georgia.
FMB offers a full range of deposit services, including a variety of checking and savings accounts, to meet the needs of our customers. The Bank offers other time deposits including daily Money Market accounts and the longer-term Certificates of Deposit. FMB’s Individual Retirement Accounts are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation up to the maximum amount of 250,000.
The Bank offers a full range of short to medium-term commercial, agri-business and personal loans. Commercial loans include both secured and unsecured loans for working capital (including inventory and receivables), business expansion (including acquisition of real estate and improvements) and purchase of equipment and machinery.
Consumer loans include secured and unsecured loans for financing automobiles, home improvements, education, and personal investments.
The Bank also originates and holds fixed and variable mortgage loans and offers real estate construction and acquisition loans. The Bank offers merchant card services, including MasterCard and Visa services.
